UMCCed
UMCCed is one of the Academic Responsibility Centres (PTj) under Universiti Malaya, founded 26 years ago with the aspiration of Lifelong Learning (PSH) as its foundation. UMCCed functions similarly to faculties and academies within the main campus of Universiti Malaya.Â

The establishment of UMCCed was a strategic step for Universiti Malaya to coordinate and enhance the provision of Certificate and Diploma level programmes initially offered through faculties at Universiti Malaya.

Since its establishment on April 1, 1998, UMCCed has been at the forefront of PSH in Malaysia by offering various Diploma programmes, Executive Diplomas, Skills & Language Courses, Professional Certificate Programmes, Islamic Studies Programmes, including Buffet Courses, for all segments of society.

UMCCed has officially operated in Cyberjaya since July 1, 2023. The operation in this new campus aims to provide a conducive learning environment and create an interactive atmosphere in line with current developments.

Professional Certificate & Short Courses
- UMCCed offers a total of 36 professional certificates and 17 short courses.
The Full-Time Diploma Program is specifically offered to SPM graduates who meet the entry requirements, while the Executive Diploma Program is tailored for working adults.
The offering of the Executive Diploma Program for this group is in tandem with UMCCed’s founding principle of promoting a lifelong learning culture, as well as providing them with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills related to their field of interest.
Due to the increasing trend of SPM graduates choosing to work after completing their SPM, UMCCed also opens opportunities for this group to join the Executive Diploma Program with the same entry requirements.
Entry requirements for the University of Malaya Diploma program through the University of Malaya Centre for Continuing Education for citizens are as follows:-
- Pass the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/IGCSE***/Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with minimum three (3) credits in any subject
- Pass the Sijil Tinggi Agama (STAM) with a minimum Maqbul ranking
- Pass the Malaysia Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 in a related field and pass SPM with at least one (1) credit in any subject
- Certification (Level 3, MQF) or its equivalent
- Other qualifications recognized by the Senate and fulfill the Special Qualification Requirements stipulated by the Senate**
** Special qualification requirements: (a) Pass in the English language subject at the SPM level for all programmes (b) Credit in the Mathematics subject at the SPM level for the UDE program.
*** The three (3) main/core subjects of IGCSE are English, Mathematics, and Science.
The qualifications to apply are as follows:
- Pass SPM or equivalent with at least three (3) credits in any subject; or
- Hold an APEL Certificate Level 4; and
- Have 6 months of working experience.
There are 3 types of financial aid available to all students:
1. National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN)
Application for financing from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) is open to all students continuing their studies at local Public Higher Education Institutions (IPTA) and Private Higher Education Institutions (IPTS). The PTPTN application requirements are as follows:
- Malaysian citizen,
- Aged not exceeding 45 years,
- Received an offer to IPTA/IPTS and Polytechnic by meeting the entry qualifications set by the Ministry of Education Malaysia and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA),
- The course followed by IPTA/IPTS and Polytechnic students must be approved by the Ministry of Education Malaysia and registered with PTPTN
- The remaining period of study at the time of application must not be less than one (1) year
- Have opened an SSPN-i/SSPN-i Plus account
2. Employees Provident Fund (EPF)
Partial withdrawals for education financing from Account 2 of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) owned by parents or oneself are allowed. This withdrawal is intended to help finance education at institutions inside and outside the country that are approved.
The conditions for withdrawing from Account 2 are as follows:
- Malaysian citizen and non-Malaysian citizen,
- Aged 55 years and below,
- Have savings in Account 2,
- Still studying or have completed studies at the Certificate Level 3/Diploma and above,
- Studying at institutions in the country (full-time, part-time, distance learning, and franchise) or institutions outside the country (full-time programs)
- Withdrawal is allowed for members/children/spouses/parents of members who have stopped/failed/not completed/withdrawn from studies (withdrawal to settle all arrears to Higher Education Institutions within 3 years from the end of studies; and settle the remaining education loan balance with the Loan Giving Institution (IPP)).
